Joe Fernandez began working in the mortgage industry in the late 90’s. During this period he formed and grew his business which consisted of several locations covering Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley, and San Bernardino County. He also operated an international Real Estate and Mortgage operation in Guadalajara, Mexico.
After the collapse of the housing market in 2008, he transitioned into managing a branch for one of the top banks in the nation. During this time, he began to realize how out-of-touch the industry was with their clients and the community. If a loan didn’t fit the square, the client would be turned away and left behind. Additionally, he began to realize how working with a big corporation for a mortgage was actually costing their clients more money in the long run due to the cost of doing business and hidden fees.
But Joe envisioned a different way of mortgage lending: he wanted to create a business that put the personal touch and heart back into lending. He wanted to build a business that advocates for the underdog, the underserved — the clients whose loans often get turned away because they don’t fit the mold.
He wanted his community to have access to a mortgage lender they could trust.
